Two representatives of a group of 1976 alumni paid a visit to their alma mater on 22nd June 2016. They showed their support to the learning of the students by donating a sum of $150000 to sponsor our students’ expenditure in Science related activities, Mentorship programmes and the Junior Achievement Program.
Eight teaching staff of the Beihong Senior Secondary School Shanghai paid a visit to our school. Other than reporting the latest development in two schools, Principal Iu led our senior staff from subject panels like Mathematics, Chinese Language., Chinese History, Chemistry and Biology to have professional dialogues through group sharing with them.
JA Company Program is an 8-month authentic entrepreneurial learning experience for senior secondary students. Under the program and the guidance from volunteer business advisers, a group of our Form 5 students, who are currently studying BAFS or Economics, set up and operate their own company Atterri 5.
On 16th April 2016, members of Atterri 5 participated in the JA Final Competition to present business operation, demonstration experience and learning. Out of the 75 student companies, they got the following team awards, including:
1. Creativity & Innovation, 2. Best Presentation, 3. Corporate Sustainability, and 4. Teamwork.

Congratulations to Atterri 5 and all its wining members.
In recent weeks, all classes from Form 1 to 4 had been very dedicated in decorating their classroom display boards for the captioned competition. The themes of the competition for each form were: “Self-discipline (F.1)”, “Respect (F.2)”, “Confidence (F.3)” and “Responsibility (F.4)”. The students were well-coordinated as they labor tirelessly for the project. The moment of truth came when the adjudicators - Mr. Iu, Mr. Leung Man Fai, and Ms. Ki - reviewed the students’ work on 19th April, 2016.
The evaluation was based on three domains – theme and content (40%), visual layout (40%), and originality and creativity (20%). After careful considerations, the judges finally determined a winner for each form – F.1B, F.2C, F.3B and F.4B. Each winner would be awarded a certificate and a present.
Congratulations to the winning classes and big thanks to all the participating classes! Thank you for your effort and the wonderful demonstration of your creativity. Winning is not the priority here. It is the process and the memorable experience that counts when the glory of winning fades into the shadow of time. Furthermore, the friendships you gain in this competition will accompany you to your future days in SFXC and beyond.
