On July 5th, our school held the annual F.6 Seminar to help students and parents prepare for the upcoming HKDSE results release. The event aimed to provide both practical information and emotional support during this important stage of the academic journey.
The seminar began with a warm welcome speech by our Principal, Mr. Leung, reminding students and parents of the need for mental and emotional readiness. Students then attended a briefing session covering all key arrangements for Results Release Day, including result slips collection procedures, sources of support and the application process for rechecking and remarking. To help them visualize the experience, they watched a documentary video capturing real moments from last year’s results release, followed by a reflective prayer led by Brother John.
Students then participated in a simulation activity, receiving predicted grades based on their mock exam performance. This allowed them to rehearse the actual process and reflect calmly on possible outcomes. After the simulation, students were grouped based on their proposed results and academic interests and proceeded to various classrooms for small-group guidance workshops. Alumni, matched according to students’ career goals, shared their own experiences in handling results and making JUPAS decisions.
While students were in workshops, parents stayed in the school hall for a Q&A session, during which teachers responded to common concerns about results release and JUPAS arrangements. This was followed by a heartfelt talk by our school social worker, who offered guidance on how parents can support their children emotionally through this important time. Parents also viewed a touching video of four F.6 students expressing their gratitude to family and school. The session concluded with parents writing heartfelt encouragement cards to their children.
The event received positive feedback for its thoughtful arrangements and warm atmosphere. As our F.6 students approach this critical milestone, we continue to stand by them with care, clarity, and confidence.
