To share the joy and fun with our brother school, St. Francis Xavier’s School Tsuen Wan, a total of 50 teachers and students of SFXC join their Long Distance Running Competition held at Tsuen Wan Riviera Park on 22nd Dec., 2013 (Sun).
6C Cheung Man Hin came fifth in the competition! Well done!
The school Christmas Party, also our annual Dress Casual Day, was organized on 19 December 2013. Besides celebrating the festival, we hoped our students would learn the attitude of caring for the needy.
They were encouraged to donate for Fu Hong Society – an independent and non-profit making organization in Hong Kong which aims to develop the potential of persons with disabilities and to enable them to achieve maximum independence and become fully integrated citizens in the community. The target of donation was well-achieved through different fund raising activities such as teacher-student matches and performances and that over $50,000 was raised altogether.
This morning, the Inauguration Ceremony of the Clubs was launched. Principal Iu presented the Club Chairman badges to the chairmen from six different groups, which are the Academic Group, the Interest Group, the Religious Group, the Services Group, the Sports Group and the Service Teams. The new club chairmen put on their badges at the end of the ceremony.
Xaverians want to share their happiness with the needy in the society. Hence, our school will hold a Dress Casual Day on 19th December to raise fund for the non-profitable organization, Fu Hong Society.
The society started its service in 1977 and it now operates about 50 service units offering a comprehensive range of services including workshops, hostels and training centres serving about 4,000 persons with intellectual/physical disabilities, psychiatric disabilities and autism.
Their objectives are to develop the potential of persons with disabilities and to enable them to achieve maximum independence and become fully integrated citizens in the community.
Since this is a charitable event, all of the money raised would all go to Fu Hong Society. We hope to raise as much fund as we can to help those in need.
