On July 7th July 2017, an exciting Water Rocket Competition was held in the school playground as a post-examination activity for all the F.2 boys. They first attended a lecture learning all the fundamental physics principles behind rocketry. Then they were put in groups of 4 to5 students. Each group had to design their own water rocket that would propel as far away from the ground as possible based on what they had learned. The objective of this activity was to raise students’ interests in science and to encourage them to put “Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics” (STEM) knowledge into application. Despite the hot weather of summer days, all the participating students and teachers really enjoyed the fun and the water splashing.
