Good morning principal, teachers and fellow schoolmates. I am Karson Yam from Form 5C. Today, I am going to talk about the development of 3D printing technology nowadays.
3D printing starts by making a virtual design of the object you want to create. Then, successive layers of material are laid down under computer control, eventually composing a three-dimensional actual object.
You may think that this kind of technology is still really imaginary. But in fact,3D printing moved from being theoretical to a realitylong ago, the continuously decreasing costs and more sophisticated skills, have lead3D printingtechnology to step in a new era, becoming more and more popularized around the world. Some surveys indicate that more than 30 percent of the top 300 largest global brands are now using or evaluating 3D printing, whether for prototyping and other innovation projects or in actual production of what they sell. Meanwhile, over 200 universities and colleges already offer 3D coursework in their curricula – covering aspects of not only 3D printing but also 3D scanning and design.
Experts have predicted 3D printers will be common in homes over the coming years.3D printing’s uses range from practical objects for everyday use to commercial products and even manufacturing, moreover, the technology holds promise for bio printing of human parts for medical purposes.
All in all, I hold the perception that 3D printing technology will lead us to a more productive, efficient and advanced world, making a revolutionary alteration among us. Eventually, I do look forward to the benefits that 3D printing technology contributes to our society.
Thank you for listening.
